Had issues trying to perfect a 9 twist 1022 to shoot Aquila 60 gr. ...Total custom massaged rig on a Zimmerman arms action polished bolt, trigger, chamber and the works of everything I could do to it, but sooner or later the stovepipe jam popped up with that short case..After changing springs and getting the bolt to slow to get it just right for 6" barrel with suppressor with that strange case with giant slug I saw this bolt for subs and shorts so thought I'd try it to see if I could get more consistent feeds and extracs...Bottom line it doesn't work for 60 gr slug Aquila ammo so forget about this theory its for sub sonic ammo as this round is 950 fps and wreaks havoc on this firefly bolt...What it did do is cause my bolt to slam back at such a high speed the trigger sear could not re-engage the disconnector for the next shot as it caused my trigger to violently bounce the hammer off the sear and never re-set..In fact I got a full auto fire of 3 rounds once because of the violent recoil of this 3 times lighter in weight firefly bolt no matter what spring was used..Also the suppressed rig was as loud as without suppressed because the case ejected before the bullet exited the muzzle..One positive was the extractor is excellent and a super nice design which I wish could be used on all bolts as it threw cases out of the port super nice and fast never failing to extract once,,,I have a nice aluminum paper weight now for $185≥..

I have about a dozenHS and like my S101 Supermatic from 1956 the most. At 48 ouncesand it’s 2 barrel underweights it shoots as flat as any 22lr would. Rivals my model 41 with the muzzle break, and shoots better than the Belgium brownings.

Have done it with a 22 built in 1903 Alos hit a dead limb on a tree a mile away with a 303 B used as a line riffle in WW1 and sniper riffle in WW2. Proved dates and uses. I know because the limb fell off where I shot it!

Your group was much closer to 4 feet and not consistent, so I think it was your skill that hot you close but a fluke you hit the can

Has anyone ever made a 22 AR style rifle that takes 10/22 magazines? I saw one that took the 10/22 barrels.

I have a Bergara B-14 trainer 22 like that, and also an almost identical B-14 in 300 Win Mag that costs a little more to shoot.

I hope the Canadian Gov doesnt see this, it is bad enough we can't have mags over 10 rounds in a 10/22 because there is a ruger HG running the same mags. As fun as that looks it's prohibited here.

I was pretty sold until I saw the groups. I hope they improve upon that. My Tikka effortlessly puts them all through the same hole with standard CCI.

everyone keeps doing this shot wrong in my opinion. as a kid taking pop shots you dont set out one can at a time because you have to keep walking back over. you set up ALL of your cans. i bet .22 man did hit that shot, but he hit 1 of the dozens of cans set out down range. i bet if you set up a couple dozen cans all over the place, youd be hiotting more out of pure chance.

😢when I was a teenager I lived in a remote place in scotland, very little to shoot at . On calm days not , desiring to kill we ocasionaly took long shots like this at sea birds floating on the sea .As the shots closed in the bird would always get suspicious and take flight.
